Mineral stones have always been used in various cultures for their benefits to our physical and psychological well-being. The original crystal skulls were said to be made out of crystal quartz or rock crystal. I have chosen to call the paintings after the various kinds of quartz crystal only as a means of identifying each one. I have tried to approximately match the stones to the paintings however they are not meant to be representative of their names.
Chalcedony is probably derived from the town Chalcedon in Asia Minor. Many semi-precious gemstones are in fact forms of the enormous family of Chalcedony and like most of these stones can be used in healing and communication with the spirit world. It is supposed to increase physical energy.
